Artist's Statement My paintings are done on watercolor paper using a variety of materials, predominately watercolor, gouche, soft pastels, pencils and found objects. The assemblage pieces are composed of paintings that I have cut up and reassembled, and found objects. These are then glued, screwed and wired onto the plywood or canvas. I think of these pieces as a marriage between my flat paintings and my art-dollz.
The art-dollz seem to have a mind of their own and come together as I work. They are made of gessoed muslin which is stuffed and stitched to form the "canvas’ on which they evolve. For the most part, my work begins with a concept or title and evolves from there. I like to think that my work reflects confusion, humor and wonder.
